Capturing Tradition and Elegance in Theatre Design
For my project with the Ottawa Little Theatre, I set out to create a set of designs for “The Yeoman of the Guard.” The goal was to give something classic theatre enthusiasts would be drawn to while trying to maintain the play’s historical tone. This included a full poster, a program cover, and a postcard, all designed to excite audiences about this musical. Through thorough research, I aimed to demonstrate the spirit of the play in each layout.

From Research to Revision: A Creative Journey
The process began with a deep-dive into “The Yeoman of the Guard,” followed by sketching a few concepts to explore different ideas. After digitizing the sketches and adding color, I finalized the poster, program cover and postcard. Intially I did have a bit of trouble coming up with something to properly demonstrate what the play was about. However, through client feedback, I went with a simpler aesthetic and made sure the title was easily readable. Ultimately, I’m pleased with the final outcome and how it captures the spirit of the play.
A Rewarding Outcome and Client Satisfaction
The outcome of this project was incredibly satisfying; for the first time in my first year, I had made something that I thought was pretty good as a project. I received nearly full marks from my professor, who was thoroughly satisfied with the designs. While I’m proud of the final result, I’d love to experiment with different angles and elements if given the chance.

This Project and More...
This isn’t the only project that I have done throughout my career, I've also got more works here, and I occasionally show off my stuff on my linkedIn!
